What We Do

CEO Practice

The rise of newer sectors and areas which never existed a few years ago, has made the nature of CEO’s role much more unpredictable and challenging. The skills and competencies needed for success in this role are in a state of constant change.

Besides being the leader of the company and responsible for its proper functioning, CEO is also the custodian of the company’s values, culture and corporate governance standards. Over the last decade, the role of a CEO has grown to become far more complex and demanding.

A CEO for an industrial major significantly differs from that of a technology start-up, and the fact is that the right candidates for both types are few and far between. WalkWater Talent Advisors’ unique solutioning approach to CEO searches differentiates us from the rest.

While learning from global leaders, we have designed a focused, structured and result driven search and engagement process for identifying the right CEO candidates. Deep domain expertise and process rigour is a differentiator along with access to and huge trust with relevant and accomplished leaders across industry sectors.

Our demonstrated success in closing tough and critical senior searches across domains and doing the basics right time and again, is the foundation of our CEO practice.

Led by our founders, the CEO practice brings to the fore the best qualities of WalkWater Talent Advisors and Clients trust us for a differentiated and refreshing approach to their CEO hiring needs.

Board Practice

It has been proved time and again that one of the most critical aspects of a company’s prudent functioning, in matters of strategy, culture, and ethics and compliance – is a strong, relevant and involved – Board of Directors. A lesser than optimum board has led to significant short term and long term issues in various companies.

The recent events in large Indian banks as well as global MNCs underscores the importance of having an effective Board.  With the rise of start-ups and younger entrepreneurs leading the charge, the need for seasoned advice and mentors on strategic and operational business issues is ever increasing.

A member of the Board is a person of repute, integrity and success and someone who the CEO can depend on for the right direction and advice.

They also need to have the maturity to allow go getter CEOs and operational managers a culture of achievement, balanced with responsibility. It’s clearly – easier said than done!

WalkWater Talent Advisors, while being a newer entrant in this area, brings a mature, yet innovative approach to Board hiring. Our focus is on deep understanding of the client need, multiple stakeholder management and right communication to the right candidates. Our industry connects across sectors, give us an on ground understanding of most Board ready professionals.

Trust us with your Board of Director needs. You will see a simple, yet surprisingly effective process that works.

Our client needed a high-profile candidate with strong experience of leading a manufacturing setup of high precision parts. The challenge was to find someone currently working in an established organization but ready to move to a smaller setup with future plans of growth. The talent landscape was also very small considering the underdeveloped Aero OEM manufacturing ecosystem in India.

WalkWater Talent Strategy:

The WalkWater team led by one of its Directors partnered closely with the global and local leadership of the UK company to understand the person fit, skillset mapping and critical competencies assessment. We ran an extensive search process and mapped senior leaders across aerospace and high precision manufacturing industry in India as well those based outside of India. While functional skills were important, we gave equal emphasis to the cultural fitment of the candidate for this search.
